Web Design

Art Advocating for Earth is a self-directed research project that resulted in establishing a nonprofit website as a vehicle for leveraging visual artists’ work to agitate for change. I developed the branding, wrote the copy, website design and development, the system and organization for soliciting and curating art and completed a case study.

Sympathy Booklet Publication

Finding Peace when our connections, the ties that bind us to one another are severed. This booklet was designed to be presented to a loved one like a sympathy card in an envelope at funerals or after loss. This booklet combines powerful imagery from 5 local cemeteries with supportive poetry. I spent about 80 hours researching poetry in the public domain and visiting funeral homes’ websites to determine the most requested readings.

Grief Support Website

There is nothing more painful than the loss of a loved one. Letting go when the heart still aches for someone can be unbearable. There are many places to find comfort and compassion. Cemeteries can be a soothing place to visit. This website contains photography from cemeteries, poems, scripture, prayers, and love. All provide comfort and will help you feel whole again. The viewer’s mental health is our priority. Our mission is to provide imagery, information, and links to healing.

This book is a research driven passion project dedicated to my teachers to say thank you. NASA provided the statistics throughout the book. Over 90 sources are cited. The planet section provides up to date information from NASA and many other sources. The most exciting updates are regarding the moons. Life has been discovered on one of the major moons, no spoilers, you will have to read the book for more information.

The game is educational; the playing cards acknowledges human rights’ activists.

Product Development

Great Bear’s Slumber is an Herbal  tea beverage brand developed to promote the Menominee Indian Reservation near Shawano, Wisconsin. According to the Menominee creation story, the Ancestral Bear emerged from the ground at the mouth of the Menominee River. The Creator transformed the Ancestral Bear into human form as the first Menominee. The Menominee sawmill is the 3rd largest employer of the tribe with a focus on sustainability. The packaging reflect natural resources.

Personal Branding

I branded Carla Wiessing, I asked Carla if she had a motto, how would she brand herself? Carla told me of the Greek Myth of Halcyon Days and the Halcyon Days Kingfisher, a type of kingfisher bird that nests by the sea where sea-charming winds blow, so that its eggs are protected during the nesting period. Today, the phrase Halcyon Days signifies prosperity, joy, liberation and tranquility. Halcyon Days are what she would like to provide to her family, friends and customers.

Female Accomplishment Cards

The Female Accomplishment Cards evolved from my conversations with Carla Wiessing about the need to celebrate women’s accomplishments.  Altogether, there are 48 cards, each featuring information and an image of an extraordinary woman, such as Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Florence Nightingale.

Brand Extension - The Movement

Carla is a mother, wife, pet owner, proprietor, yoga teacher and much more. One of Carla’s best qualities is that she genuinely cares about other people. She is constantly thinking about what others need. I decided to start a movement to encouraging people to provide Halcyon Days to those around them. Several products were created for the static site.

Museum Exhibit

I developed an exhibit for Smithsonian National Museum of American History. United by Conflict is based on key sociocultural events circa 1960s. The exhibit is set up so that when you enter you view photographs about key issues in the 60s compared to current events. After that you pass an informative area regarding sixties trends. The main exhibit consists of digital panels that combine imagery with detailed historic information. Many of the issues are still relevant today. The panels are a living piece of digital art that is constantly evolving to be more than it is.

Marketing Deployment

Several pieces were created to deploy the United by Conflict anthropological exhibit. The website is in place along with SEO optimization. An event is planned. Keisha Lance Bottoms is the keynote speaker. Special invitations with RSV cards are ready to go.  Posters, post cards, flyers, news paper ad, Facebook ad, and a bill board announce the grand opening, and I created t-shirts, hats and mugs for the gift shop.
